John had been suffering from joint pain and inflammation for months when his chiropractor suggested he contact Zizania.

At first glance, John appeared healthy. His weight was adequate for his height and age; his blood test showed no sign of disease or nutrient deficiencies, and he stated that his energy level and stamina were good. As a result, the source of his extreme joint pain remained a puzzle. His pain was at times so severe he could not use his hands.

Having worked with many people suffering from joint pain and autoimmune disease, the Zizania nutritionist immediately suspected some kind of allergy. Allergies are very difficult to diagnose and pinpoint, particularly when they are not food related.

After doing a  thorough health history, it was discovered that John’s pain was more pronounced on weekends and Monday mornings. Reviewing his eating habits, John overall had a healthy diet and his weekend food choices hardly differed from his week  day ones. However, upon a closer look the nutritionist noticed that  John enjoyed having a drink on weekends when he was  out socializing. He was far from being a heavy drinker but he enjoyed a cocktail or two on Friday nights and perhaps a few glasses of wine on Saturday. Sometimes, he enjoyed a glass of champagne at Sunday brunch.

His nutritionist asked him to quit all alcoholic beverages and follow a nutrition therapy plan for just three weeks. Within days, his joint pain started to decrease.  After three weeks, his pain was completely gone.

Since reducing his alcohol consumption and frequency, John reports he remains pain fee and is enjoying all his activities.
